Have you been feeling stuck with your past experiences? Do you feel like you just can’t let it go? Is your childhood past causing issues in your relationship?
We are here to help! Experiencing trauma is not uncommon; an estimated 60% of men and 50% of women experience at least one type of trauma in their life. When trauma starts to affect one’s daily life, trauma therapy, a form of talk therapy, may be beneficial.
Trauma Therapy provides a safe and confidential place for you to talk to a licensed mental health therapist about personal experiences, thoughts, feelings, or problems. Therapy is for those who may have experienced a situation that that disrupts and/or impacts your thinking, mood, feelings, or ability to relate to others. A person may also seek out therapy because they want a neutral and safe place to talk about general life experiences. Everyone needs somewhere they feel safe and supported.
The role of the therapist is to help you understand your situation, teach you strategies to express, and cope with potentially stressful situations. The therapist can also offer the individual or family tools to help them manage difficult feelings, and/or negative thoughts and behaviors.

Once people develop PTSD, the recurrent unbidden reliving of the trauma in visual images, emotional states, or nightmares produces a constant reexposure to the terror of the trauma. In contrast to the actual trauma, which had a beginning, middle, and end, the symptoms of PTSD take on a timeless character.
