Foster parenting and adoption Therapy

As a foster parent and adoptive parent to high needs kids I understand how difficult this process can be. We often don’t have enough support and resources to help these kids and their families. We often feel stressed, busy, and exhausted trying to balance all the appointments, worker visits and everything else that comes with fostering.

Therapy for foster parents can help them cope with the stress, fear, and other challenges they may face while caring for a child in foster care.

We provide both individual therapy and family therapy to children ages 10+ and their caregivers. Individual psychotherapy is when a therapist works one-on-one to help the child identify and express their feelings. They then help them to identify effective ways to work through their feelings. It is important to find a psychotherapist who has experience working with children who have a history of neglect and abuse. Here at Therapy for Cycle Breakers we have extensive training in trauma therapy, accelerated resolution therapy and play therapy for kids 10+.

Let us help you be successful

Your role as a foster parent is best described as an anchor. Foster parents provide the stability, structure and acceptance needed during what can be a scary and traumatic time for the children who enter the dependency system.

In a period of chaos, you are the anchors our children hold onto until they find permanency, either by safely returning home or joining a new forever family.

Let us help you be successful, gain insight and resources to help you and your child heal.
